Kingsman: The Golden Circle is just Spy Kids for adults…

I finally saw this movie for the first time last weekend, and I was really excited because I was a fan of the first installment of this spy movie satire film. Unfortunately, I was really let down by this sequel. Upon reflection, I realized that the reason why I didn't like this film is because it's just the same exact formula as the original, turned up to 11; which results in an incoherent mess that reminded me of the Robert Rodriguez Spy Kids movies of my childhood. When you compare them to each other, I feel like the similarities are apparent. Obviously, they are both spy movies, but the congruencies seem to run deeper than that. Heavy reliance on CG action, weird robotic characters, and even the actor that played "Agent Whiskey" bore a striking resemblance to Antonio Banderas to me. (That last one might be a stretch)I have a list of things that I felt like the movies had in common, but I don't want this to turn into a laundry list. What I really want to know is, did anyone else notice the similarity? Did that increase your enjoyment of the movie or decrease it? Or am I just way off base on this one?(Note: Although I didn't enjoy Kingsman 2, I think that Sir Elton John was a tremendous bright spot in the film. He was brilliant.) via /r/movies http://ift.tt/2k9WrIE
